The guys had a blast this past week hanging the front part of the roof. The boom truck from Parr Lumber dropped the 20 foot 4x12 roof rafters on to the beams on Sept 1st and then the guys spent the week notching them, placing them into Simpson hangars and rounding the rafters where they hang over the front over the house (over 3 1/2 feet).
Seth spent a while putting the finishing touches on the rafters (20 feet above the ground) and was dubbed the Human Pinata by Michael and Lorin. Hanging off ropes in a harness for a whole day would make anybody sore - hopefully, Seth will be able to have children - he just got married in June!!
Rough framing for the windows on the second story is finished except for the 5’ round which will take some more work. After the 2nd half of the roof is up, we’ll be ready for the metal roof - sometime after next week. The plan is to be ready to stack bales by month’s end.
