We have been planning the construction of our bale home for over 5 years. It’s been almost a year of hard work and it’s turning out beautifully - we hope to move in by summer.

Long Time No Write
We still aren’t moved in but we’ve passed a huge milestone. The interior plaster work is finished. Now, all that’s left, is some minor carpentry finish work and LOTS of cleanup. We’ll probably start moving in little by little in another week.

Plaster/Finish Work Continues

It’s been almost 2 months since my last update. It’s been really busy. I’ve had my hands full with plumbing and electrical and, I’m very happy to say, are complete - plumbing top-out passed on Jan 25 and the electrical rough-in and branch circuits will pass tomorrow (hopefully).

Last week, 2 guys from Alaska Masonry Heat installed our Tulikivi soapstone heater. It’s complete except for the area where the chimney pipe exits the satellite and we still need to punch the chimney pipe through the roof. This will get done next week and, hopefully, for Christmas, we will be
